North Medford Black Tornado Boys Soccer 2-4 South Medford

South Medford picked up a 4-2 boys soccer victory over North Medford on Tuesday evening, handing the Black Bears a crosstown league loss at home in Medford, Oregon. The result drops North into the Southwest Conference (6A) standings at 0-1 in league play after a competitive but ultimately costly night on their own pitch. North entered the match at 1-4 on the season and now stands at 1-5 overall following the defeat. The Black Bears showed enough to find the back of the net twice, but South's four-goal output proved too much to overcome. Crosstown rivalries carry extra weight in the Rogue Valley, and Tuesday's result gives South Medford early bragging rights in the conference race. North will need to regroup quickly and tighten things up defensively if they want to find their footing in league play. The Black Bears return to action later this week with a chance to get back in the win column and build some momentum heading into the stretch of the conference schedule.
