North Valley Knights Softball 7-10 Pleasant Hill
A back-and-forth offensive battle at Pleasant Hill ended with North Valley softball on the wrong side of a 10-7 decision Thursday afternoon. The Panthers kept pace with their hosts through much of the non-league contest, but couldn't quite match Pleasant Hill's scoring punch when it mattered most.
Both teams found success at the plate in what turned into a slugfest, with 17 total runs crossing home plate. North Valley showed resilience throughout, answering Pleasant Hill's offensive surges with rallies of their own, but the home team managed to stay one step ahead.
The loss drops the Panthers to 1-4 on the season as they continue working through the early portion of their spring campaign. While the result wasn't what they hoped for, the team's ability to generate runs on the road against quality competition provides a foundation to build upon.
North Valley will look to bounce back in their next outing as they aim to find more consistency in both phases of the game moving forward.
