North Valley Knights Softball 1-5 South Umpqua

South Umpqua defeated North Valley 5-1 in a non-league softball matchup on May 29, handing the visiting team from Grants Pass, Oregon a rare setback. The loss dropped the Southern Oregon Conference (3A) squad to 12-5 overall while maintaining their perfect 6-0 league record.

North Valley managed just one run against South Umpqua's pitching staff in the road contest, unable to generate the offensive production that has fueled their strong season. The hosts controlled the game early and built a comfortable lead that North Valley could not overcome despite multiple scoring opportunities.

The defeat marks only the fifth loss of the season for North Valley, who entered the game with a 12-4 record. Their unblemished conference mark remains intact as they continue to lead the Southern Oregon Conference standings.
