Illinois Valley Cougars Girls Volleyball 0-3 St. Mary's, Medford

St. Mary's of Medford swept Illinois Valley 3-0 on Thursday in a non-league girls volleyball match played in Cave Junction, Oregon, home of the Illinois Valley program, which competes in the 3A-6 Far West League during league play. Thursday's contest brought a Medford program across the mountains for a non-league test against the Wolves on their home floor. Illinois Valley, now 3-14 on the season, was unable to find an answer for the Spartans across any of the three sets, falling in straight sets without taking a frame. While the scoreline was difficult, the Wolves have shown a willingness to schedule outside their league and take on competition from the Rogue Valley's larger programs, giving their players valuable experience before the postseason picture comes into focus. Illinois Valley will look to close the regular season on a stronger note as remaining matches approach and the team seeks to build momentum heading into the final stretch.
