South Medford Panthers Football 28-41 Sherwood

The South Medford Panthers couldn't quite find their footing Friday night, falling to Sherwood 41-28 in a game that had its moments but ultimately slipped away. The Panthers showed some fight on the offensive side of the ball, putting 28 points on the board, but the Sherwood offense proved to be a handful all evening and the Panthers were never quite able to close the gap when it mattered most.
South Medford had chances to make things interesting, and there were stretches where the Panthers looked like a team capable of turning this one around. But costly defensive breakdowns kept letting Sherwood extend the lead before the Panthers could build any real momentum. Credit where it's due, Sherwood came in with a game plan and executed it well from start to finish.
The loss drops the Panthers to 1-4 on the season, and there's no sugarcoating that it's been a tough stretch of football. That said, 28 points isn't nothing. There's enough on the offensive side to work with, and the coaching staff will have plenty of film to pick apart this week. The Panthers will need to shore things up defensively if they want to get back in the win column and salvage something meaningful from the back half of this season.
