Phoenix Pirates Girls Soccer 0-5 Klamath Union

Klamath Union handed Phoenix a tough 5-0 defeat in girls soccer Thursday evening, sending the Phoenix squad home from southern Oregon with a loss in 4A-5 Skyline Conference play. The FireBirds from Phoenix, Oregon, entered the match riding a strong 8-2 overall record, but the Pelicans were dominant on their home pitch from the opening whistle. Klamath Union's five-goal performance left Phoenix with little answer defensively, and the visitors were unable to generate the consistent offensive pressure needed to get on the board. The loss moves Phoenix to 8-3 overall and 6-3 in conference standings. While the margin stings, the FireBirds have built genuine momentum this fall and remain a competitive presence in the Skyline Conference with several regular season opportunities still remaining. Phoenix will look to bounce back quickly and refocus ahead of their next matchup, using this result as motivation to sharpen both ends of the field before the postseason picture comes fully into view.
