South Medford Panthers Softball 11-16 Willamette

The bats were alive at South Medford High School Friday afternoon, but the Panthers couldn't quite match Willamette's offensive firepower in a 16-11 softball loss. Both teams combined for 27 runs in a contest that featured multiple lead changes and momentum swings throughout the seven innings.
South Medford showed resilience at the plate, putting up double digits against a Willamette squad known for strong pitching. The Panthers managed to keep pace early but couldn't contain the visitors' attack in the middle innings, ultimately falling short despite a late rally attempt.
The loss drops South Medford to 6-9 overall and 4-6 in conference play, keeping them in the hunt for a playoff position with several games remaining in the regular season. While the defensive struggles were evident, the offensive production provides a positive foundation moving forward.
The Panthers will look to bounce back next week as they continue their push toward the postseason. With the bats showing life, South Medford needs to tighten up defensively to close out the season strong.
