Illinois Valley Cougars Girls Soccer 0-8 Brookings-Harbor

Brookings-Harbor handed Illinois Valley a shutout in girls soccer Thursday, winning 8-0 in a Sunset Conference (2A) league contest played on the coast. The Brookings-Harbor result drops Cave Junction, Oregon's Illinois Valley squad to 0-8-1 overall and 0-6 in conference play this fall.

Facing a road trip to the Oregon coast is never easy, and Brookings-Harbor proved to be a formidable opponent on their home pitch. Without a detailed box score available, the margin tells much of the story. The Tarpons controlled the match from the opening whistle, finding the net eight times while keeping Illinois Valley off the scoresheet entirely.

It has been a difficult fall for the Illinois Valley girls, who have yet to find their footing in league competition. Still, each match offers young players valuable experience as the Sunset Conference season winds toward its final weeks.

Illinois Valley will look to regroup and find some momentum in their remaining league fixtures as the 2026 season draws to a close.
