Eagle Point Eagles Girls Soccer 0-5 Ashland

Ashland handed Eagle Point a 5-0 defeat Saturday in a Midwestern League (5A) girls soccer match played in Eagle Point, Oregon, dropping the Eagles to 2-5-2 overall and 0-2 in conference play. Ashland controlled the match from the opening whistle, finding the net five times while keeping Eagle Point off the scoreboard entirely. The loss was a tough one for the Eagles on their home pitch, as they were unable to generate consistent offensive pressure against a Bulldog side that proved clinical in front of goal. The shutout will give Eagle Point's coaching staff plenty to work on defensively in the week ahead, as the Eagles look to build on the attacking and organizational improvements that will be necessary to compete in league play down the stretch. Eagle Point will look to bounce back when they return to action next week, seeking their first conference win of the season.
