Ashland Grizzlies Softball 20-24 Thurston

Four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning weren't enough as Ashland softball dropped a wild 24-20 decision to Thurston on Thursday at home. The Grizzlies and visiting Eagles combined for 44 runs in a game that showcased offensive firepower throughout both lineups.

The loss drops Ashland to 4-8 overall and 3-7 in Midwestern League (5A) play as the Grizzlies continue to battle in league competition from their home base in Ashland, Oregon. Despite the defeat, Ashland's offense showed impressive resilience, matching Thurston nearly run-for-run in a contest that saw multiple lead changes.

The Grizzlies mounted several rallies but couldn't quite overcome Thurston's explosive attack. Both teams took advantage of scoring opportunities, turning what started as a typical league matchup into an offensive showcase that kept fans on their feet.
