Ashland Grizzlies Girls Soccer 2-4 Grants Pass

Grants Pass handed Ashland's girls soccer team a 4-2 defeat Tuesday evening, sending the Grizzlies home from a road trip to Grants Pass with a loss that drops their overall record to 5-5-1 on the season. Ashland, representing the Midwestern League (5A) out of Ashland, Oregon, struggled to contain a Grants Pass offense that found the net four times in the non-league matchup. The Grizzlies answered twice but could not close the gap against the host Cavemen. The result is a tough pill after Ashland entered the game at 5-4-1, carrying momentum from a solid stretch of play. The silver lining is that the loss comes in a non-league contest, leaving the Grizzlies' Midwestern League standing at 2-1 and their conference hopes very much intact. Ashland will look to bounce back quickly and refocus on league play, where they still have plenty of ground to defend and ground to gain.
